When one says the word “fashion,” chances are women’s fashion is the what comes to mind. Although women’s fashion has been, is and will continue to be an ever expanding, multi-billion-dollar industry, men’s fashion isn’t far behind. For many, the term that is most closely related with the words “men’s fashion” and “Canada” is Harry Rosen. And with good reason.
The Square One Shopping Centre in Mississauga is home to a number of world-class, high-end, reputable brands of fashion, but for many Canadians, Harry Rosen is synonymous with sharply dressed, powerful and confident men. The first Harry Rosen store in Square One Mississauga was opened some 30 years ago. Recently, Harry Rosen has changed locations and was given a revamped look that aims to attract men of different calibers to be dressed for the new age.
The new store is located in the heart of the new Luxury Wing of Square One, and boasts in excess of 18,000 square feet of men’s fashion paradise. A fresh interior design concept is the heart and soul of the new store, though it does also feature an expanded selection of designer fashion brands for men. These brands include giants such as BOSS, Burberry, Armani, Versace and John Varvatos. However, Eton of Sweden has also been given a custom installation of dress shirts and furnishings in the store, for those who like to think outside the box.
Harry Rosen has been around since 1954 and it shows; the new store is but a showcase of the company’s expertise in ready-to-wear and made-to-measure tailored clothing. That being said, the store also boasts an expansive shoe section containing exquisite footwear from To Boot New York, Salvatore Ferragamo, Prada and more. However, should the need arise for expert tailoring on-site, fear not: it is provided as the pièce de résistance of the new store.
The store can be found on the upper level by centre court, and the nearest entrance is Entrance 3. The aforementioned interior design concept focuses on brightness, and the state-of-the-art tailor shop is fully staffed. This comes as no surprise, as the staff in all Harry Rosen stores is very professional and provides excellent service, especially when it comes to advising customers. The club-like made-to-measure consultation area is private, which means you can discuss your individual needs away from the prying eyes of other customers.
All in all, the Harry Rosen Square One store is at the forefront of luxury brands and retailers in the country; it was designed to offer a uniquely Canadian perspective on world’s finest menswear collections, which is obvious from simply walking into one of Luxury Wing’s most prominent stores. It is a place not only for those who wish to spend a miniature fortune on good-quality menswear, but rather a haven for men who want their clothes to speak for them. Clothes do not make the man – unless we’re talking about a tailored suit made-to-measure at Harry Rosen. Why? Because confidence is an acquired quality – just like a sharp look.
